It’s been an interesting month, with Andy Burnham winning Makerfield, and now he is the party leader and Prime Minister. Yesterday he was made PM by the King and went off to choose his cabinet.
He has been very secretive so far, not taking questions from the media and only giving arranged interviews. It can give you the sense that Andy Burnham is out of his depth and floundering already.
He announced a VAT cut on electric from the 1st of October, cutting bills for homeowners struggling. His other idea is to eradicate rough and homeless sleeping that many must endure.
The new PM has never mentioned the important problems that the British people have on their mind. Small boats, asylum, illegal immigration and asylum hotels. His first cabinet meeting discussed the fact that he wanted a cost-of-living government.
He is obsessed with the north and Manchester. He talks about taking some power from No. 10 and taking it to Manchester. He said he can give power to every postcode. But again, it’s all talk, and some very important things need to be done in Britain.
It’s all promises, promises till something is done. Is it all just hot air? He has no mandate and seems to brush important matters under the carpet.
Britain is in crisis. The illegal immigrant problem is allowing crime to grow. The government is currently in court trying to stop data about crimes by illegal immigrants getting out. If they must go to court, then there is a problem.
Cost of living rises weekly, with fuel staying high and food shopping increasing almost weekly.
He takes your mind off things by talking about No10 north. It’s his baby. But will he manage to sort the UK out in the end 10-year plan or not? We will have to wait and see, and he should remember the British people are not forgiving anymore.
