During an emotional press conference outside 10 Downing Street, Sir Keir Starmer set out his time for departure as PM.
On Monday morning (June 22), he reminisced about his first walk up to Downing Street and how much the country was in disarray at the time after the Tories.
He announced that a timetable for his departure would be put in place.
It’s only been 72 hours since Andy Burnham won the by-election, which set off a pace of thought for Keir Starmer to consider his position as PM.
The PM insisted he would fight any contenders who contested him for the PM’s position. But it seems Andy Burnham may be too much.
Keir Starmer stated how much the UK has changed under Labour and his tenure in the last two years. Also, how we are fairer and stronger now, if it were the case for this argument, he would not be in a position to have to resign.
Showing a little emotion, he broke a little to explain that he needed to become a good husband and a good dad.
If Andy Burnham does become Prime Minister, maybe there will be some sort of role for Sir Keir Starmer.
