We Have A New Labour Leader

Keir Starmer is no longer the leader of the Labour Party. With only one man standing for leader, Andy Burnham is now the leader of the Labour Party. Third time, lucky Andy Burnham has waited 16 years for this privilege.

Only 3 days to wait till he becomes PM. He currently has a spring in his step, but that will remain.

In his acceptance speech, he noted that Labour was going back to the old ways. Old school Labour.

He praised Sir Kier Stamer for getting the party back on track and how he got the party back on track. But Andy is electable, and now he is ready to lead the party.

He explained the common cause was to get the country working together after years of divisions, and the Party will be distinctively Labour.

As the next PM, he will make sure that everything is Labour. But he mentioned that he is prepared to work with other parties as well.

The new Labour leader also said, “A united Labour movement is the best hope for our country.”

Nothing in his speech covered what he is going to do about illegal immigration. Nothing at all about anything immigration, even though it’s one of the most important things on people’s minds.

We are as much in the dark as we were at the Makerfield by-election about the new Labour leader. He plays everything close to his chest, and the media has had no chance of getting close to him to scrutinise him.

At the end of the day, it’s just words and promises that can be broken. Like Gordon Brown, the new leader has no mandate. We should have a general election; it’s the only way.
